Homework Problems
We have trial use of WebAssign for this course. First self-enroll on the WebAssign site with our class key (“ucsd 2397 3544”). If you have any difficulty self-enrolling, then take a look at these WebAssign_instructions.doc. Then work through the Chapter 12 assignment. The homework problems are similar to the following ones in the book.
Chapter 12: Objective Question #1, Conceptual Questions #1 & 4, Problems #1, 3, 17, 33
Chapter 13: Objective Questions #1 & 6, plus a few Conceptual Questions & Problems (see WebAssign)
Participation
In addition to the required homework problems, students are expected to complete the reading quizzes and participate in class with clickers. Please register your clicker on the ted.ucsd.edu website as soon as possible.
The first reading quiz will be available on WebAssign soon, and a PDF can be downloaded here: ch12_readingquiz1.pdf.
Note that the first week’s assignment and quiz need not be turned in for a grade, but subsequent weeks’ assignments and quizzes are due before class on Fridays.
The first biweekly quiz will be on Friday, April 10th; the next one will be two weeks later
I’ll continue adding course info here, but look for the most up-to-date information at the course website at http://ted.ucsd.edu, which has finally been set up (as of April 1st).
