1ES 1218+304
Note: The NLSy1 Mkn 766 (2-10 keV flux typically 2-6 × 10−11 erg cm−2 s−1) lies 0.73 degrees away, at (α = 12 18 26.51, δ = +29 48 46.3). Given the FWHM ∼ 1 degree angular response of the PCA, Mkn 766 may potentially contribute >∼4 × 10−12 erg cm−2 s−1 (30-50%) of contaminating emission to the measured flux/spectrum of 1ES 1218+304. The blazar RGB J1217+301 (ON 325) lies about 0.76 degrees away, at (α = 12 17 52.1, δ= +30 07 01). Its 2-10 keV flux, following references on NED, is usually 6-10 × 10−13 erg cm−2 s−1 and so the level of contamination to the measured flux/spectrum of 1ES 1218+304 is likely only ∼2 × 10−13 erg cm−2 s−1.
