This is the ninth day of my trip to Uganda to participate in "Encouraging Girls to Study and Major in Science."
Nearing the end of the trip. Saturday was a visit to the zoo in Entebbe, followed by a party at Dan's that night. Sunday was
souvenier shopping, a visit to the Uganda National Mosque, and the beginning of my travel home. I arrived home on Monday, April 27th.

Final Thoughts
As I said in an earlier posting, I tried to not have any expectations for how this trip was going to
go. Of course that is difficult to do, but what expectations I had were far exceeded by the actual experience. The country
of Unganda is very vibrant and full of life. The people were very warm and friendly, everywhere I went. The one important
important lesson I am taking away from visiting the schools and talking to the girls, is how much potential is within the country.
Uganda has a long way to go, and certainly for women, there are many barriers preventing any chance of success.
Women make up 50% of the potential of the country and are a resource that should be encouraged and fostered as much as possible.
Despite the challenges that girls in Uganda face in pursuing a career in science, I think my trip was more than worthwhile
and that I did some small bit of good. If not one of the girls I talked to, maybe her daughter will become a scientist. It all
starts with one small step, and we all have to try.
